Taekwon-do is not just kicking and punching. It is a new way of thinking about life.
Taekwon-do is a style of unarmed combat for self-defence, involving the skilled application of punches, kicks, blocks, dodges and interception with the hand, arms and feet.
To practise taekwon-do requires learning sets in formation called patterns. There are nine traditional coloured belt patterns. These patterns are more skillful and challenging as your level of knowledge, flexibility, stamina and strength is building to progress to the next belt.
You will begin with basic hand and foot co-ordination exercises called sajo jirugi1, 2 and 3.
